in 1962 as a corporate R&D
laboratory serving the business units of Rockwell International.
Our main facility in Thousand Oaks opened in 1964. The Teledyne
Scientific Company campus contains 77 acres of beautiful hillside
land with a panoramic
view of Thousand Oaks. Major operations at
this facility
include electronics, information sciences, materials, and optics
research and product development.
Situated
in the Conejo Valley, surrounded by rolling hills and scenic
mountains, Thousand
Oaks is a thriving
community, replete with professionals,
corporate centers, and high-technology businesses. It is a perfect

Camarillo
The
Teledyne Imaging Sensor’s
Camarillo facility was opened in 2001, and is located approximately
10
miles west of our Thousand Oaks
location. The site represents a cornerstone in our strategy
as a growing high
technology business. Major operations at this facility include
R&D
and production for Imaging Sensors as well as the development
and production of laser protective eyewear.
The
city of Camarillo,
situated in a coastal plain, is steadily becoming
a place of high technology industry. It offers good schools,
excellent living conditions, natural parks and plentiful
outdoor activities.
Research Triangle
Park (RTP)
Teledyne Scientific
Company’s
Research Triangle Park, North Carolina facility, opened in December
of 2000. It is strategically located in a 7,000-acre research
and development hub with over 130 high technology, biotechnology,
and pharmaceutical companies. A major operation at this facility
is Decision Sciences, a branch of Information Sciences concerned
with knowledge extraction, reasoning under uncertainty, optimization,
and decision analysis.
Located 120
miles Northeast of Charlotte, North Carolina’s largest
city, the RTP region, comprised of Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel
Hill is an international community, and has a population of roughly
1.2 million, offering urban excitements with small city appeal.
The schools are some of the finest in the country with national
test scores well above the average.
