Thousand Oaks

Teledyne Scientific & Imaging’s main facility is located in the Conejo Valley in Thousand Oaks, California. This relatively young city is a dynamic community of professionals, corporate centers, and high technology businesses. Located 50 miles south of Santa Barbara, 40 miles north of Los Angeles, and nestled among the Santa Monica mountains, Thousand Oaks offers its residents pleasant suburban living free from the congestion and stressful conditions of urban life, but only a short distance from major activities such as exciting sporting events, five-star dining, historic Hollywood landmarks, museums, symphonies and the theatre.

Surrounded by natural beauty, Thousand Oaks has many local activities to offer its residents and visitors. State and National Parks can be found around every turn offering a bounty of opportunities for outdoor activities and fun. The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza is definitely the place to go for enjoying world-class concerts; it hosts spectacular performances featuring famous performers from around the globe. Add to this a great school system and friendly neighborhoods, and Thousand Oaks is truly a wonderful place to be.

Camarillo

The city of Camarillo is located 10 miles west of Thousand Oaks in a beautiful coastal plain. Its residents take advantage of many attractive features, which includes a thriving economy, excellent schools, natural parks, and a mild climate. Camarillo’s economy is supported by industries ranging from high technology and retail to agriculture. Its public school system has received state and national recognition for educational excellence. Recently a new four-year university was opened in the area, California State Channel Islands.

On weekends you can go for a hike at Channel Islands National Park, tee off at one of the many golf courses, or stroll along the Pacific Ocean. With 23 parks and the Los Padres National Forest, you will find endless amounts of outdoor fun. If you fancy shopping and entertainment, Camarillo’s old town and premium designer outlets are worth visiting, and for entertainment there is the Christmas parade in December, the famous Point Mugu Air Show, and summer concerts in Constitution Park.

Research Triangle Park

Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina is a great city for families, students, and businesses alike. A combination of North Carolina’s old-fashioned hospitality combined with a progressive approach to business development, education, public safety, and the environment has made RTP and its neighboring city, Durham, one of the fastest growing cities in America. Mingled among the country stores, craft shops, and bed & breakfasts, is Duke University, where some of the world’s most cutting-edge medical research and development is conducted. Other universities in the area include University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, and Wake Forest University. RTP contributes to the economic vitality of North Carolina by offering numerous employment opportunities in almost every field imaginable.

If leisure is what you seek, RTP and its surrounding cities have much to offer. With annual events, including the American Dance festival and the Bull Durham Blues festival, you will find year-round entertainment. For museums and historic landmarks, visit the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, or take a stroll through Bennett Place State Historic Site – the site where the civil war ended and emancipation took effect. The area is great for golfing, and its beautiful natural parks offer horseback riding, hiking, fishing and mountain biking.
